based in vietnam, story architecture recognizes the difficulties many young mothers face within the country’s modern society, as they have to balance work and taking care of their children at the same time. located on the outskirts of trang bom town, dong nai, the house has been developed to ease the everyday life of the parents through a series of strategic programmatic decisions. first, in order to make cooking easier while watching the two babies, the kitchen has been placed in the middle of the house, forming a double-height space. in this way, the parents can have an overview of the entire room, while the children can enjoy their freedom when playing without risking their security.
the open space above the kitchen area is designed to help parents relax while cooking, while from here, natural light and wind enter the house, creating a clean, fresh environment for the children. as children often sleep with their parents until they are six years old in vietnam native culture, the bedroom has been extended to contain the babies beds in a semi-separate room. when the curtain is closed, privacy is guaranteed. in addition, a lot of reading space and outdoor areas characterize the design, which are created to reduce the pressure of children care.
